SOLAR SAINTS

SOLAR SAINTS (solarsaints.org) is a Christian ministry with the following objectives:

• We encourage outreach by encouraging churches to consider using solar light to highlight how Chrisitanity helps to expose darkness.

• We encourage outreach by showing churches how gifting solar walkway lights can be used to encourage youth attendance (purchase costs can easily be covered by asking church members for modest donations),

• We encourage outreach by showing churches how gifting solar walkway lights can be used to encourage young adult attendance (purchase costs can easily be covered by asking church members for modest donations),

• We encourage churches to consider replacing candles with solar lamps (purchase costs can easily be covered by asking church members for modest donations).

• We encourage churches to use the resources saved from candle expenditure to allocate grants to missionaries in developing nations to purchase solar lamps.

• We acknowledge that not all churches will be ready to totally abandon candles, but nonetheless feel the subject warrants serious consideration. If churches struggle to totally abandon candles, we simply urge churches to consider replacing some candles with solar lamps (perhaps two on the altar and perhaps explore ways of resting further solar lamps on the top of candle stands)...

• We share scripture associated with light plus the symbology that Chrisitanity has with light plus a solar prayer (that churches might like to use when gifting solar lights to youth/ young adults).

• We share resources for churches to source solar lights/ lamps for modest costs.
