SOLAR SAINTS

SOLAR SAINTS (solarsaints.org) is a Christian ministry with the following objectives:

• We encourage churches to replace candles with solar lamps (purchase costs can easily be covered by asking church members for modest donations)...

• We encourage churches to use the resources saved from candle expenditure to allocate grants to missionaries to purchase solar lamps...

• We share resources for churches to source solar lamps for modest costs...

• We acknowledge that not all churches will be ready to totally abandon candles, but nonetheless feel the subject warrants serious consideration. If churches struggle to totally abandon candles, we simply urge churches as often as possible to place solar lamps turned on next to as many unlit candles as possible...

• We encourage churches to take the 10 virgin parable as a serious Christian reflection on the importance of both light and preparedness...
