Youth Outreach Disciples

Are you interested in a way to encourage youth attendance of your church and/or youth club?

Youth Outreach Disciples: (an action plan for churches to consider following gifting solar lights to encourage church and/or youth club attendance):

1. Church leadership will first need to approve using solar lights to encourage youth attendance of their church and/or youth club. Church leadership will need to decide on a strategy for purchasing and gifting solar lights. The most simple strategy is to have an age range in mind (say 13-18) and to base distribution to youth who regulary attend church and/or youth club (say 3 attendances during the last one month). It is important for churches to decide on a strategy that they can sustain and communicate.

2. It is suggested that churches consider gifting one solar walkway light to each person meeting their gifting criteria. We suggest the gifting of solar walkway lights as they are affordable and also have an association with both light and walking with Jesus. Solar walkway lights are designed to be placed outside and have multiple names such as solar deck lights/ solar path lights/ solar garden lights etc.

3. Within your church, find a member prepared to become the youth outreach disciple (responsible for managing your solar llight gifting to encourage youth attendance). The youth outreach disciple will need to keep tabs on youth attendance and gift solar lights when required. The youth outreach disciple will also need to report back to church leadersip and ensure stocks of solar lights are ordered when required.

4. It is suggested that you print this information to accompany each gifted solar light.
